Dora and me

Doerah So, it looks like I’ll be taking in a Dora the Explorer show next week with two of my favorite children on the planet and their equally awesome madre.

In preparation for the show, I have a few questions that you, my dear readers, might be able to answer.

1. Will Dora be a person dressed in a costume?

2. If yes to number 1, will she have a big head?

3. Will a man or a woman be underneath the costume?

4. Will I be frightened?

I have a feeling your answers may only invite more questions, but here goes….

I’m so jealous. I have a bootleg of Dora at the Springfield Civic Center from 1975, and she totally rocked. Her blues jam on “Bouncy Ball” was soooo trippy.

and question #5: How can I possibly repay you?

You should know that Dora the Explorer is the single most annoying children’s show on PBS today. When my niece was of the Dora age, she developed a bunch of very annoying habits, including shouting and carrying on at invisible foxes. It drove me near insanity. Then I met Dora. And it all made sense. I didn’t like Dora at all, and I liked my niece under the influence of Dora even less.

Best of luck. Don’t go poking out your eyes and ear drums at the show, no matter how much you want to.

I am SOOO jealous. An evening of entertainment with my favorite children, and their fabuloso mother. Why, oh why, did I ever leave WMass?

And speaking from my experience living near Disney – the answers to your questions are: 1) yes, 2) yes, 3) probably a woman and 4) be brave, my friend.
