i wouldn’t be surprised if it WAS a woman. doesn’t matter. . . man or woman… shame all around. i saw an interview with Deval Patrick on NECN who had a really smart response to this picture. I was impressed. It was, of course, too smart for me to be able to adequately remember and repeat.
Yes, skinnier anchors do do a better job… at getting people to watch their news show. (Actually, I don’t know if that’s true, but I assume it is.) There are several options the exec dude/tte can do: 1) be the pioneer who does not take attrativeness into account when appointing news anchors, probably at the detrement to his or her business, 2) change our society to the point where news is not a business, 3) move to PBS, which probably still must be run as a business in most respects, 4) change society to the point where attractiveness isn’t a measure of respectability (people say it isn’t, but it is), or 5) get into radio — how else do you explain Howard Stern?
Finally, not to support such absurdity, but I’m with Brit. How can I doctor my digital pictures on friendster? Rescale part of the image without constraining proportions? I see a project in the near future.

Stuff like that is so lame. And I suppose the network is gonna argue that they’re just taking off the ten pounds that the camera will put back on.
You just KNOW a woman wasn’t in charge of this. And if one was, she oughta be ashamed.
