I think if I were a student today, I would be concerned with:
* equipment — what hardware is used and how recording works
* editing — w/r/t editing software used, and what to edit out
* syndication — how to get into iTunes/how to promote a feed
* keeping it going — how to continue the dialog with subject matter/listeners
* blogging/podcast services — are there any freely available services I could piggyback on?
* test — is this going to be on it?
